So you probably noticed the site looks completely different! I’ve been spending a lot of time working on it and changing things around, along with working on some other new things that I talked about in my last post, and I decided I wasn’t really happy with the way the site looked.

I really like the more simplistic design of sites like Minimalist Baker and Two Red Bowls. I feel like too much color and clutter draws away from the pictures of the food, which is the whole purpose of the site!

I also wasn’t super happy with the WordPress theme I was using. I wasn’t really tailored well to what I needed and I found myself editing the code a lot, to the point where I couldn’t update the theme when I should have because I hadn’t used a child theme and I would lose my changes.

So I went on WordPress’s database of free themes and found one better suited for what I wanted to do and made sure to make my own child theme this time. After an hour or so of messing with the settings and changing fonts and colors, I launched the redesign and I am soooo happy with the new look.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! And don’t forget to look for a new post on Monday, it’s gunna be a good one!

      Thank you!!
And a child theme is pretty much a theme with a couple extra files separated so that you make changes in those and then when it updates those go untouched and your changes don’t get erased
